The only tangible way to enact change on a LARGE SCALE is to lead by example.
2009 RIPPLE worked with local nonprofit We Love Clean Rivers to assist in their inspirational efforts. WLCR's works with over 300 volunteers to clean out local rivers. This year they extracted over 5,000lbs from the Clackamas River. RIPPLE teamed up with WLCR's to create an event that further the ripple of sustainable practices, organizing an art auction where all the pieces were made from the recovered river debris.
The event was a major sucess in raising awareness on how our community can get involved to help clean up the evironment, and furthermore to take that trash and re-use it.
